Nowadays he is Minister of State of the Netherlands, Chair of the Energy Research Center (ECN), which is about energy saving, renewable energy, clean fossils (climate change) and Atoms for Peace (nuclear technology); and chair of the Council of the Rotterdam Climate Initiative. Diversity, respect, awe for nature and the need to celebrate life mark him as an Earth Charter man.

![]() | Frank Wouters Chief Executive, Masdar Power, UAE Frank Wouters is responsible for the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects worldwide. These projects include the 500MW Abu Dhabi Hydrogen Power Project with BP Alternative Energy, the 630 MW London Array offshore wind project with EON and Dong in the UK and the 100 MW Shams 1 solar CSP project in Madinat Zayed, UAE. He has over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy, chemical and energy efficiency sectors. Frank has held several senior management positions in many leading organizations in the fields of renewable energy and sustainability including Evelop International BV, Netherlands; Sol Holding AG, Germany; and Silicium de Provence, France. He holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. |

![]() | Joost van Dijk Chief Executive Officer, E.ON Benelux, The Netherlands Joost van Dijk MSc is chairman and CEO of the Management Board of E.ON Benelux, that concentrates on the production and supply of electricity and gas to private customers and business customers. Van Dijk joined E.ON in 2001, following a 15 year career at the Shell Group in R&D, engineering, technology and chemical manufacturing. He graduated in electrical engineering and chemical technology at the Twente University and received an MBA from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Joost van Dijk assumed his current role in March 2005. He is also chairman of the Dutch Gas Turbine Association and member of the Coal Industry Advisory Board, established by the IEA. As co-founder of the VME in 2008 he is also chairing this new Dutch association for free energy markets. | ||
