Representatives of the POWERGEN Europe advisory board had the opportunity to meet with their counterparts from European Utility Week in January in order to brainstorm and conceive the outline of a joint conference programme for the two events, taking place alongside one another in Paris this November. This marked the starting point to develop a programme of cutting edge content that will form a conference serving all the links in the energy value chain.
In a large room overlooking the city of Amsterdam, there was a tangible buzz of excitement, as power industry experts exchanged views concerning the most pressing challenges for the industry as it pursues its transition and goals of decarbonisation.
The POWERGEN Europe representatives identified many opportunities to contribute to the strategic sessions forming the joint conference Summit, where issues of policy direction, regulation, finance and markets are uppermost, regardless of whether the focus is from the generation, power delivery or customer side. POWERGEN Europe also featured content on the exhibition floor, where two main themes emerged in the form of “Lifecycle Management" and “Distributed Generation”.
These outline plans were shared with more advisory board members and other key industry stakeholders, in order to develop the programme further.
