C&I - Commercial & Industrial Energy Users

Do you work for a large energy user? This dedicated programme will support your efforts towards a successful energy transition!

The energy-intensive sector is of significant importance to the energy transition. And although the sector is slowly changing from being an energy consumer to being an energy prosumer and has shown steady progress in improving energy efficiency, there is still a lot of progress to be banked.

Commercial & Industrial (C&I) energy users currently consume 26% of Europe’s energy annually. With Europe targeting a 40% CO² emissions cut by 2030 and 60% by 2040, C&I energy use and production is becoming increasingly crucial.

Supporting positive progress in this aspect of the energy transition, European Utility Week launched the C&I Energy User sessions two years ago.

What you will get out of attending?

With the co-location between European Utility Week and POWERGEN Europe, there will be a number of additional topics this year for those interested in generating and optimising energy.

It will be Europe’s first event dedicated to the electricity sector from fuel choice right through to the prosumer.

With rapidly growing interest from C&I energy users and prosumers regarding these issues – issues which are critical to businesses striving to save costs and reduce their carbon footprint - the C&I Approved Programme provides a journey through the 3-day Summit program at EUW & PGE, designed to maximise the C&I energy users' experience in Paris.

Summit Programme

C&I energy users are among the most proactive market participants in the areas of energy procurement, energy efficiency, self-generation and corporate social responsibility. Reflecting these realities and in its third successful year at European Utility Week, the C&I event will become a full Summit track FREE to pre-qualified energy management professionals who wish to learn, share and network with their peer group and leading utilities, suppliers and innovators in this space.

Hub Sessions Programme

Alongside all of this and reflecting the brand new co-location of the highly regarded POWERGEN Europe conference and exhibition with European Utility Week, a parallel Distributed Generation Hub programme will offer insights into the range of technologies that can deployed in C&I situations so business and industry can fully realise their potential as active participants in the energy system.

Explore the Hub Sessions programme:

Day 1 (November 12) will include a series of Masterclasses on Power Purchase Agreements, structuring ESCO financing deals for energy efficiency and onsite generation investments alongside the Corporate Sustainability Playbook.

Day 2 (November 13) will start by focusing on corporate strategies for energy with senior leaders sharing their viewpoints and experience of making energy a top corporate priority. In the afternoon, market updates on energy procurement in Europe will come from leading procurement professionals, covering PPAs, trading & hedging and Energy-as-a-Service.

Day 3 (November 14) will deal with energy management, with case studies from the Industrial, information & communications technology, office and retail sectors on monitoring & controls, efficiency and flexibility.
